Primary pupils are ready to rock with their latest stage musical.
The whole community has pitched in to help Dubmire Primary School stage its production of We Will Rock You.

Every child in the Houghton school has been involved in the play which will have its opening night tomorrow.

Teacher Julie Harrison, who is producing the show, said the children have been working and rehearsing for the play since they returned to school after the Christmas holidays.

She said: "All our children are involved and on the stage will be youngsters aged from five right up to 11. They are all so excited about it."

The Britannia Terrace school's show is a version of the London hit musical We Will Rock You, which is based on the story of rock band Queen.

Mrs Harrison said that bringing the show together has been a big community effort, with people pitching in to make costumes and scenery, including big wooden cars, working on lighting and production leaflets to promote the production.

Performances are tomorrow at 6pm, then Wednesday at 4.30pm, Thursday at 6pm and Friday at 7pm.

Tickets cost £2.50 each, available from the school, tel. 382 3071.
