Wearsiders are being urged to back a fund-raiser that has been launched to help welcome home troops from Afghanistan.
Beer for the Boys provides a free can of beer to servicemen and women flying back from Afghanistan on RAF Tristar aircraft.
Alcohol is not available to British troops while serving in the war zone, which makes the experience of a drink on the flight home all the more special.
Organiser Wing Commander Steve Chadwick, from 216 Squadron at RAF Brize Norton in Oxfordshire, said: "I felt it would be a nice thing to do after the guys had done their time in theatre on behalf of a grateful nation and the RAF."
To make a donation, send cheques payable to SIF Funds to Beer for the Boys, 216 Squadron, RAF Brize Norton, Carterton, Oxfordshire, OX18 3LX
