Bouncing babies braved the cold North Sea to raise cash for Children in Need.
The seven fund-raisers donned nappies, bibs and dummies for the charity dip at Seaburn.

Gillian Douthwaite, 36, of Shiney Row, organised the event, and was joined by two workmates from Sunderland Social Services, Wendy Greenhow and Michelle Hamilton.

Also taking part were Gillian's children Jodie, 16, Sophie, 11, and seven-year-old Sasha, and Jodie's friend Gillian Wilson, 16.

Gillian Douthwaite said: "We all enjoyed it. The kids wanted to go back in.

"I have raised money for Children in Need for the past couple of years because when I see it on the telly it breaks my heart."

Gillian has also organised a talk-in for Children in Need featuring Sunderland AFC legend Bobby Kerr at the Travellers' Rest in Shiney Row in November 25 from 7.30pm. Tickets, £5, are available on the door.
