A teen tearaway has been banned from boozing in public.
Yob Jordan Rafter, 17, of Galashiels Road, has been plaguing residents with his bad behaviour.

But now he has been slapped with an Antisocial Behaviour Order (Asbo), in a bid to curb his behaviour.

His Asbo prevents him from being drunk in public, have an open container of alcohol in public, sit on, push or be a passenger on a motorbike without a valid licence and insurance, hang around in a group in the Galashiels Road area or cause harassment, alarm or distress to anyone.

Neighbourhood Inspector Lisa Theaker said: "Members of the public can rest assured that we will do all in our power to bring before the courts people who deliberately cause antisocial behaviour and are a public nuisance."

The order will run until February 25, 2012.
