WEARSIDE’S famous landmarks have been captured in all their glory as part of a photographic project.
Penshaw Monument, St Peter’s Church and the Winter Gardens are all featured in a special calendar produced by the Wearside Photo Imaging group.
A six-strong team of photographers, based at Fulwell Community Centre, spent the past year taking the images.
Ray Wilson, who snapped a stunning picture of the Wearmouth Bridge at sunset, helped oversee the calendar, which has already sold out.
“It’s a project we run every year,” he said. “The pictures are taken over 12 months at a variety of locations.
“The one of St Peter’s was taken during the big freeze earlier this year.”
The other photographers were Graham Carling, Jim Doneathy, Graeme Mackenzie, Edgar Rutter and Ian Webster.
