BUILDING firm staff and customers on Wearside will be brewing up a donation to a cancer charity.

Workers at Barratt North East and David Wilson Homes are taking part in the World’s Biggest Coffee Morning, in aid of Macmillan Cancer Support, on Friday between 10.30am and 2pm.

Hot drinks and cake will be on offer at Barratt’s Teal Park Farm site in Washington, and the David Wilson Homes’ development at Elba Park, near Burnmoor, in exchange for a donation to the appeal.

Barratt sales manager Lyndsey Clavery said: “We thought this would be a good way for people to meet and get to know each other better and raise some money for a good cause.”

World’s Biggest Coffee Morning events have raised more than £60million since 1991 and enable Macmillan to continue to offering a wide range of medical, emotional and financial support to people affected by cancer all over the region.

Hundreds of coffee mornings will be taking place across Wearside and South Tyneside.

Anyone who wants to take part can visit www.macmillan.org.uk/coffee for more information.
