SWAMPED by eager young fans, SAFC striker Fraizer Campbell helped brighten up the half term holidays.
The Black Cat star met youngsters taking part in one of SAFC Foundation’s coaching session at Goals Soccer Centre, at Bede College, Barnes.
The event, held as part of the October half term coaching programme, saw more than 100 youngsters aged from four years upwards take part in skills training and small sided games.
Fraizer said: “It’s good to see so many youngsters taking part and getting active in the half-term holidays. There are some great skills on show from even the smallest kids here but most importantly they all seem to be having a lot of fun.”
SAFC Foundation’s Football Development department works with more than 4,000 children and youngsters every week in a wide variety of sports programmes including breakfast clubs, multi-sports, disability coaching, and evening and weekend courses.
The department also offers progression routes for players according to their ability which can include being referred to scouts from the Sunderland AFC Academy of Light.
