OUR Echo Face 2012 of winners had a twinkle in their eyes when they picked up their sparkling prizes from Collinson Jewellers.

Sophie Wharton, 19, and Ravi Gill, 16, were crowned King and Queen of the catwalk last month by our panel of judges in our annual model hunt.

As well as scooping a year’s modelling contract with Zeebra Model Management, they each received got a bag of bling worth £250.

Store owner Harry Collinson said: “They were over the moon with their prizes and seeing them again reassured me that we had definitely picked the right winners.

“I don’t think they realise how good they are. ”

Sophie chose a Juicy Couture watch and Ravi from South Hylton went for a Hugo Boss one. They both took away some pieces by Pandora and Links of London.

Ravi who is a pupil at St Robert of Newminster sixth form said: “Winning the competition has been brilliant and I never expected to get such an amazing prize.

Full-time mum Sophie from Seaham said: “It was so much more than I expected.”

“Winning the competition has been brilliant, I’ve been trying so long to be a model so to get a contract with Zeebra is dream come true.”
