AN artist is in need of talented musicians to help add a sprinkling of magic to his latest project.
Spray paint artist Frank Styles is on the hunt for local music to help bring a video he is planning to shoot in Sunderland to life.
He wants to create a time-lapse capture of a large-scale spray painting he will be creating in the city centre.
The video is being overseen by successful film makers Wojtek Bozyk and Peter McAdam and has the backing of Sunderland City Council.
It is hoped it will be screened at council events that take place in the city, giving all involved great exposure.
To help him create his vision, a soundtrack is needed to go with the video and Frank is giving a local act the chance to star, with a request for bands to use their imagination and submit tracks to him.
Frank, who runs Studio Q on Nile Street, said, “We are not asking musicians to produce new music, rather enter their existing tracks to be selected by the judges.”
Frank is looking for a lively, upbeat sound that will reflect the creativity of the painters, photographers and glass and ceramic artists, whose creative work will also be included in the film.
Frank said: “The spray painting itself is based around the sequence of waves of creativity, the contrast when opposites meet and the synergy that springs from the cohesion of these ideas.
“The winning track will reflect these positive energies from Sunderland’s creative scene be it local lyrical genius or simply intelligent instrumental.”
All tracks entered must be between three and seven minutes long.
