A GIANT made of rubble is one of the new attractions at a medieval hall in Durham City.

Crook Hall and Gardens in Sidegate, off Frankland Lane, opens for the 2012 season on Sunday.

The 25ft-long sleeping giant is one of a number of improvements made to the grounds of the 13th century grade I listed medieval hall, by its owners Keith and Maggie Bell.

Crook Hall is open to the public from 11am every day except Friday and Saturday. Admission charges apply.
