A FORMER wartime cadet in Sunderland’s Air Training Corps is appealing for two pals from the past to get in touch.

Jack Robinson served in the ATC during 1943/44 – working as an apprentice at Doxford Engine Works by day and training at the Garrison Field by night.

“This photo shows me with two other cadets – Alan Vale, who worked at George Clark’s Engine Works, and Percy Bowman, who was at North Eastern Marine,” said Jack.

“We were all about 17 at the time. This picture was taken just as we were waiting to go up in a Halifax Bomber.”

Jack went on to serve in the RAF after the war, looking after plane engines, and lost touch with Percy and Alan after leaving the Air Cadets.

“I wonder what they are doing now. I’d love to hear from them again,” he added.
