CARDIFF City, who meet Cup winners at Ninian Park tonight with an unchanged side, have been warned not to expect an easy game. A point will keep Cardiff in the Second Division, but Sunderland manager Bob Stokoe said today he was keen to finish on a high note.

“Points from Cardiff and Queen’s Park Rangers on Wednesday will push us to fourth from top,” he pointed out.

Both Run Guthrie, with a thigh injury and Billy Hughes with a leg injury, were on the treatment table today and as a result, Mr Stokoe will not announce his team until later this afternoon.

Cardiff: Irwin, Dwyer, Bell, Phillips, Murray, Morgan P, Reece, McCulloch, Woodruff, Hoy, Anderson. Sub Villars.

Sunderland (probable): Montgomery, Malone, Guthrie, Horswill, Watson, Pitt, Kerr, Hughes, Halom, Porterfield, Tueart. Sub Young.
