THERE will be plenty happening at Roker Park to keep the capacity crowd entertained and interested even before the start of tonight’s game.
Two brass bands, Silksworth CW and Washington Silver Band will be playing inside the ground from 6.30 and there will be a number of presentations to mark Sunderland’s Cup success.
Manger Bob Stokoe will receive an award from a whiskey firm in recognition of him being chosen Division Two manager of the month for April; a Sunday newspaper will present Sunderland with the Giant-Killer Cup; and there is the possibility of another surprise presentation.
All the ingredients are there to make tonight the biggest Wearside soccer occasion for years, but of course pride of place will go to the most coveted trophy of all – the FA Cup itself.
