It is located in the Lake District, near Keswick, and overlooks Derwentwater.

In this week’s delve into our picture archives, these lucky children would have been given the chance to try out lots of different activities, from canoeing, climbing, sailing and map reading in beautiful surroundings.

It seems everyone knows someone who has been to the Derwent Hill centre.

Take a look at our photographs from our archives. Can you spot yourself before you were due to paddle in your canoe or kayak on Derwentwater?

Or, is that you under the helmet about to scale a rock face?

Or are you pictured in one of the group photographs before starting the journey to the Lakes.
