TWO of a kind. That’s Newcastle United manager Joe Harvey (right) and his Sunderland counterpart, Bob Stokoe.
Both were members of the successful Newcastle side of the 1950s and today both shared the distinction of being named “Manager of the Month” by an awards panel sponsored by a whisky firm.
Top award went to Mr Stokoe because of Sunderland’s mid-week Cup win over Manchester City which was rated the best performances of the month. He will receive £100 and a gallon of Scotch whisky.
Mr Harvey takes the Division One award, with Ken Murphy (Blackburn) and Billy Lucas (Newport) being nominated in Division Three and Four respectively.
