PEPPA Pig-mania helped pull-in 11,000 visitors to a shopping centre.
The much-loved TV character was swamped on a visit to Prince Bishops Shopping Centre, Durham City.
She last trotted her way into the city in 2009, but this was her most successful visit yet.
Queues formed all day for fans eager to be photographed with her, increasing visitor numbers in the centre by 20 per cent on the same weekend last year.
Four-year-old Dixie Martha Baker, from Washington, went with her little sister Elma Marigold and her mum and dad.
She said: “I love Peppa Pig. She is pretty and has a lovely pink dress. She is always nice to her friends too.”
Richard Toynbee, centre manager at Prince Bishops, said: “Peppa’s visit to the centre proved to be really popular, with families travelling from all across the region to see her.
“Children were very excited to meet their favourite TV character in person, and she soon found herself surrounded by delighted fans.”
