Our new year fitness winner is over half way in her journey to get lean in 2017.
Liz Barton-Jones was one of dozens of entries in our New Year, New You contest to win a bespoke health and fitness package worth £700 with trainer Tim Ford of Live Well Training.
After being chosen as the winner, Liz has reached the half way point in her 12-week journey to changing her life, which includes regular fitness sessions with Tim, guidance and unlimited use of the Fitness Bank gym in Ashbrooke.
Liz, 41, who works at SAFC’s Foundation of Light, has more reason than most to lose weight as she’s hoping that a healthier lifestyle will help in her quest to start a family with husband Gareth.
At the half way point it’s so far, so good for Liz who has lost 10lbs and is already starting to feel the difference.
“I’m really enjoying it and Tim is great in terms of progressing me with a good variety of exercises and activities,” said Liz, who weighed 17st9lbs when she started her three month programme.
She added: “Things that I hated doing six to ten weeks ago I’m actually enjoying and it’s given me the confidence to try things outside of the sessions.
“It’s not just about the scales either, I feel so much different in the way I look, I’m more toned and I feel so much stronger and fitter. It’s given me more confidence already.”
Tim said: “Liz is doing really well and is very committed to the programme, which is all you can ask for as a trainer. She’s lost 10lbs so far and it’s 10lbs of fat which is the important bit. Her blood pressure and resting heart rate has also come down and her cardio vascular fitness has improved.
“It’s also given her the confidence to try other things and she recently got a PB at parkrun. At the half way point she’s definitely heading in the right direction.”
