A NEW group is being set up to support young sufferers of fatigue conditions and their families.
ME North East, based in Chester-le-Street, is launching ME/CFS Young People and Families Friendship and Support Groups.
ME (myalgic encephalomyelitis) and CFS (chronic fatigue syndrome) are conditions which have several symptoms such as long-term disabling tiredness, muscular pains, joint pains, disturbed sleep patterns, poor concentration and headaches.
The groups, which will be held in Chester-le-Street, Newcastle and Middlesbrough, will bring together young people with ME/CFS and their families for mutual support.
The first Chester-le-Street meeting will be on Wednesday, November 16, from 4.15pm-6pm at the charity’s centre, Bullion Hall, South Approach, DH2 2ES.
