THERE is still time for walkers to take part in this year’s series of Niall’s Miles events.
The mile-long community walks give Wearsiders the chance to take part in light exercise, enjoy the city’s landmarks and raise money for community projects.
The event consists of 10 one-mile walks led by designated walk leaders taking place at various Sunderland locations throughout October.
Those remaining have the following meeting points and times: Seaburn Centre at 2pm on Sunday; the Walrus at Mowbray Park at noon on Wednesday; the boating lake car park at Herrington Country Park at 2.30pm on October 24; the Bob Stokoe statue at the Stadium of Light at 2pm on October 28.
The walks raise money for the SAFC Foundation which works with more than 40,000 youngsters and their families every year in programmes that use power of football to inspire and educate young people and families.
