FAMILIES can enjoy some spooky fun at the Washington Wetland Centre this month.

Nature Fright Nights will take place on Friday, October 28, Saturday, 29 and Sunday, 30, where visitors will be able to create their own lantern before taking a night-time stroll around the grounds, hunting for bats in the creepy Hollowood and listening to stories by lamplight in Hunter’s Creek cabin.

They can then mix their own spell potions and enjoy cookies and hot chocolate.

These events run from 5pm to 7pm and cost is £8 per person. All children must be accompanied by an adult and take an empty jam jar to create their lantern.

The event is unsuitable for small toddlers and booking is essential by calling 4195933 or emailing joanne.newbury@wwt.org.uk.

Throughout the half-term, Saturday, October 22 to 30, the centre will be putting extra craft activities on in the Discovery Centre, from 1pm-3pm, including broomstick making, masks and jam jar lanterns.
