HOW’S this for a great offer?
Plant World Seeds will send you TWO packets of its new seeds for next season if you place an order on its website.
The seeds on offer will be the stunning ‘black’ tomato, Indigo Rose and Salvia Rose Rhapsody, together worth £5.40.
The rare cordon Indigo Rose tomato is the blackest ever, seemingly blight and disease-free. It has ornamental darker leaves and stems and was developed by Oregon State University.
The heavy-cropping trusses of fruity-flavoured, large-plum-sized fruits, ripen late in summer to a deepest purple, and when sliced have deep red flesh.
It is the first tomato variety in the world that has anthocyanins actually in its fruit, and no genetic engineering techniques were used to develop this plant.
Anthocyanins, (which are antioxidants, and the same black pigment as in blueberries), are believed to help reduce the risk of heart disease, diabetes and even certain types of cancer, and some evidence even suggests they protect our brain as we age.
If you would like to be one of the first to try this black tomato, this is your chance! Seed quantities are limited, so it’s first come, first served.
Hardy perennial Salvia Rose Rhapsody is also new for 2014, with striking rose-pink hooded blooms massed on densely-packed flower heads on long stems, over dark green, aromatic foliage.
They are perfect for a mixed border, at 40-60cm tall and are attractive to butterflies and bees. Dead-heading gives a very long season of colour.
To claim your seeds, when you get to the payment stage, fill in the promotion code box with SUND2, then the two packets will automatically added to your order free of charge. To browse the catalogue, go to www.plant-world-seeds.com.
