ACTORS are working through the night to ensure their production of Sleeping Beauty is a hit.
Students at East Durham College in Peterlee are putting on the pantomime as part of their foundation degree in music and performing arts.
The show is already a sell out for all its matinee performances and demand for evening tickets has also been high.
Student Michael Coulson, who is playing Prince Florimund, said: “The previous pantomimes were so successful, I’ve been working through the night to make sure this event is the best ever.”
Lecturer Amanda Gregory said she has been delighted by the dedication shown by the students.
She added: “I’ve seen new levels of professionalism and maturity from the cast and with it a very high standard of theatrical performance.
“It really demonstrates the quality and talent of the East Durham area. “The creative industries generate huge amounts of income for the country but as is demonstrated by our pantomimes they can also generate a lot of joy.”
The production runs on Wednesday, Thursday and Friday (JAN 18-20) in The Lubetkin Theatre at the campus.
Doors open at 6.45pm and tickets are £7 for adults and £5 for concessions, with more information available from the college on 518 2000.
