TWO Wearsiders received a jolly visit when a comedian landed in the region as part of a multi-city tour.
Dom Joly has been travelling across the country to personally thank Nectar card holders.
To mark the loyalty programme’s 10th anniversary, the Fool Britannia comedian set off on his mission to help Nectar personally thank as many of the 18.5million card holders as possible.
His outrageous antics were inspired by members of the public who posted suggestions via the Nectar Facebook page and Twitter feed.
These included Joly leading a Dom Joly clone collective in London, chasing after cardholders in Birmingham and building a giant Hollywood style cheers sign out of straw bales in Yorkshire.
As he made his way through the North East, he stopped off in Washington to thank loyal cardholders Ann Dodds and Helen Gouldie.
Dom said: “Saying cheers to all the people who have helped support Nectar is a nice touch and I think it really shows appreciation for their cardholders after ten years.”
James Frost, of Nectar, added: “With our 10th birthday being such a momentous milestone we wanted to ensure we marked the occasion by thanking our cardholders who have made this possible.”
