Coastal festival moved over dire weather

THE National Trust’s Make the Most of Your Coast festival has been postponed.

The event was due to take place at Cotsford Field, off Cotsford Lane, Horden, on Saturday, August 25.

The festival, which is into its second year, will now run on Saturday, September 29, between 10am to 3pm.

Organisers hope the decision to move the event, with hopes of drier conditions later in the year, will make the festival more enjoyable.

Many events throughout the region have been cancelled due to unpredictable and unseasonable weather.

However, the National Trust said it was keen to avoid cancelling Make the Most of Your Coast entirely.

The festival will offer free fun for families, with everything from craft games and activities to live music.

The National Trust will be joined by wildlife groups, the Durham Heritage Coast team and the RNLI.
