A BLONDE bombshell is proving she has a heart as she fights to be crowned Miss VIP.
Emma Crowther is pulling out all the stops to ensure she raises money for the Foundation of Light and Show Racism the Red Card.
The 17-year-old beauty hopes her fund-raising skills will help secure her a spot in the grand finals of I Am Models’ Miss VIP beauty pageant in November.
Emma, of Houghton, said: “I’ve been modelling for the last three years and it would mean a lot to be able to get somewhere further.
“I’ve never done a pageant before and so far it’s been fun.
“We’ve been through a few different stages in the competition so it’s exciting.”
So far, Emma has fought off fierce competition from contestants across the North East in the photo shoot stages as well as strutting her stuff on the catwalk.
Now, she has made it down to the semi-finals where entrants have been tasked with raising cash for the two good causes.
On August 18, Emma will host a charity ladies’ night at Houghton Ruby Club.
On the evening, the entertainment includes a fashion show with clothes provided by Distinctive Designs, a two-course meal, topless waiters and live entertainment.
She said: “The two charities are really good causes and I hope to raise a lot of money for them both.
“It’s taken quite a lot of organising so far but it’s coming together really well and looks like it’s going to be a fantastic night.
“I’ve had really good support from everyone so far and I’m really grateful for all the help.”
All of the semi-finalists will also have to take part in another round of PR events and then they will be put through their paces in a further round, which is being kept under wraps.
Only 30 girls will make it through to the Grand Finals in November, when they will take part in three sections: personality, sportswear and evening wear.
The winner will receive a contract with I Am Models and will be the face of I Am VIP.

The event starts at 7.30pm.
WHILE fighting for the top spot in the pageant, Emma’s boyfriend is fighting on the frontline in Afghanistan.
Emma’s boyfriend of nearly three years, Daniel Leonard, featured in the Echo in June after being dubbed the bullet magnet when he made headlines across the globe.
The 21-year-old, who us serving with the 3rd Battalion, The Rifles, saw a round hit the butt of his rifle during a firefight.
Two weeks later, a bullet was fired into his body armour as he provided cover in Nad-e Ali North, in Afghanistan.
Daniel, who is returning home for two weeks leave this month before finishing his tour of duty, was not injured in either of the attacks.
Emma said: “I miss him madly when he’s away and do worry about him but we knew the risk was always there.”
