CARE home resident Annie Dixon celebrated her centenary in style.
Annie, who lives in The Laurels care home, Francis Way, Hetton, was joined by her family and friends for a fun afternoon to mark her hitting the big 100.
Annie’s daughter Edna Scott, 70, said of the celebration: “It went fine and she enjoyed it.
“She fell asleep towards the end though, because she got a bit tired.”
Annie, who is originally from Grasswell, Houghton, moved to Hetton when she married husband Jacob, in 1939.
She then raised Edna and her other daughter Jean, who is 69.
Jacob died more than 25 years ago.
As well as Edna and Jean, Annie has three grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.
