Taking place on Sunday, March 25 at the stunning Rockliffe Hall, a five-star hotel in Hurworth, near Darlington, the day will feature 30 handpicked exhibitors as well as a spectacular catwalk showcasing the latest bridal gown trends, mother-of-the bride must-haves and men’s formal wear.

Brides-to-be and their families will be given five-star treatment at the wedding show with a glass of champagne on arrival.

They will then get to browse the stands, visualise their wedding ceremony taking place in the elegant Old Hall or glass-roofed Victorian Orangery – which will be set up as if to host a civil wedding – then sit back and relax while etc puts on a glittering catwalk show.

The event will take place from 11am to 5pm, with visitors being allocated one of three times slots.

etc director, Linda Burnside, said: “From stunning wedding jewellery to chair covers, hats, fascinators and honeymoon ideas, there will be something for every bride at the etc wedding show.

“This is an exclusive event and tickets are limited, so I’d advise people to book early.

MECCANO madness hit Monkwearmouth Station Museum as it was taken over by giant Daleks, London buses and more.

Volkswagen Beetles, a Tardis, trains and fairground rides were also among the creations on display as the North East Meccano Society took over the venue, attracting more than 700 visitors.

Children were encouraged to take part in drop-in sessions at the museum where they could make moving models with construction toy KNEX.

Jo Cunningham, manager of Sunderland Museums, said: “It’s always a great day when these amazing models are at the museum, and I think the parents have as much fun as our little visitors.

“Big thanks to the North East Meccano Society for coming to spend the day at the museum and bringing their wonderful creations for us all to enjoy.”

The event was part of a half-term programme of free events for families that the learning team at the museum are leading.

Children could also borrow Station Backpacks – a backpack full of fun art activities and trails to explore the museum.

Families can also visit the new Wagon Shed, complete with two immaculately restored railway wagons, a suspended miniature train set, new interactives and a 1963 classic Rover P4 car.
