As part of this year’s Houghton Feast celebrations the annual carnival parade and procession will take place on Saturday, October 3.
The parade starts from the rear of the town’s library car park, in Station Road, before making its way to The Broadway where it will be judged by the mayor of Sunderland, Councillor Barry Curran.

All walking groups will be guided towards Rectory Park where families can enjoy Feast entertainment.
Houghton Feast originated as a dedication service at Michaelmas to the parish church of St Michael and All Angels in the town.
The festival was revived during the middle of the last century and continues to bring in thousands of people to the town each year to enjoy the fun fair on Rectory Field and other events.
