Fund to help devastated Hartlepool family tops £10,000
The online fundraising page, started by a friend of Makayla Lund and John Crompton, last night stood at £10,230 after an amazing show of generosity from the community.
The money will help Makayla and her family who were involved in the tragic car accident in France on Sunday in which John, 31, nine-year-old Morgan Lund and Evie-Lily, aged four, died.

In an update on the Go Fund Me website, Laura Austwicke wrote: “AMAZING! We have reached the £10k mark!!!
“Once again the families of Makayla and John would like to give their heartfelt thanks to each and everyone of you for your continuous support, kind words and donations. They are lost for words and forever grateful to you all. The money raised will be a massive help to them at this difficult time.”
Proceeds from the sale of special ribbons made in memory of John, Morgan and Evie-Lily will also go to the family fund appeal.

Lots of other games and activities will also be going on at the fundraiser, which starts from 5pm.
