West Boldon Residents’ Association will meet in The Wheatsheaf in West Boldon at 10am on Wednesday, March 9. The agenda will include future social events to include an Italian Night in Leonardo’s and a fish and chips supper and Dutch auction in The Wheatsheaf in April and May and an update on the old West Boldon C of E School buildings and land.
Roma Garbutt recently gave a very detailed and interesting talk to The Boldons’ History Group about the formation of Europe. The group will welcome Major Anthony Tate. Rtd, to the next meeting who will give a talk on the Commemorative WW1 Centenary War Horse Ride in which he took part in 2014 in France.

Hide AdSlimming World classes are held in the Boldon United Reformed Church hall on Front Street, East Boldon, on Tuesdays at 5.15pm and 7.15pm and Fridays at 9.30am. Classes are also held in The United Reformed Church on North Road, Boldon Colliery, on Thursdays at 5pm and 7pm and Mondays at 9am and 11am.
The next meeting of the Cleadon Floral Arrangement Society in All Saint’s Church hall in Cleadon Village will take place on Tuesday, March 15, at 7.30pm. The area chairman of NAFAS, Pam Alexander, will be the demonstrator and her subject is Down the Garden Path.Refreshment are served.
The Lenten lunch programme continues, organised by Boldon Churches Together. This Thursday the half-hour service followed by a light lunch of sandwiches or soup and a bun will take place in The Sacred Heart RC Church on New Road, Boldon Colliery, at noon. The United Reformed Church on Front Street, East Boldon, will host the service on Thursday, March 10 at noon.
Messy Church will be held this Saturday at St Nicholas Church in Hedworth Lane, Boldon Colliery, from 11am – 12.30pm.

Hide AdThe Jarrow Boldon Community Area Forum meeting will be held at Jarrow Town Hall on Thursday at 10am. The CAF meeting will be held on Thursday, April 14, in the community centre, New Road in the Robert’s Room at 5pm.
East Boldon Methodist Church will hold its Wednesday coffee morning tomorrow. There will be bring-and-buy and sales stalls including homemade cakes. You are invited to join them from 10.am.
Local Folk Group Seganainm will host the Folk Club at The Grey Horse in East Boldon this Thursday at 7.30pm. Admission is free. OnThursday, March 10, the band will host the folk club at East Boldon Cricket Club on Sunderland Road at 8pm, also free admission. On St Patrick’s Night on Thursday, March 17, the band invites you to The Travelling Man in West Boldon where there will be a St Patrick’s celebration with Irish stew and music.
