Horden Cricket Club kick-started their bid for Division One safety with a first win of the season, 8-1 against Trimdon Colliery Royal Albion.

A full programme got the go-ahead for the first time in three months.

Lee Cleary’s superb hat-trick was supported by a brace from man of the match Josh Dunning plus goals from James Lowery, Dave Allan and Liam Rouse, with Paul Wilkinson replying. Neil Luke starred for Albion.

Horden are still on minus points following two deductions but are only five points adrift of third-bottom spot.

South Hetton Cricket Club lost to new front-runners Hetton Social.

Jack Brannigan’s brace and an effort from Steven Medd comfortably saw Hetton to a 3-0 success.

Karl Powney starred for Hetton, Damian Hope for the cricketers.
