Sunderland dancers put on glass-inspired show
DUSC Dance Company, from Sunderland University, are on tour with two pieces - an abstract contemporary piece based on glass and also an interactive dance theatre piece teaching science to key stage one children.
The professional company, which is made up 23 undergraduate dance and performance arts students, performed the glass-inspired piece at two free performances at the National Glass Centre.

Hide AdDancer Jessica Calvert said: “As we had glass as a theme we thought National Glass Centre would be a perfect place to stage some free performances.
“We always try to think of a fresh idea for our dances, but it’s only an abstract theme which means we can interpret it in our own way.”
She added: “We work as a professional company taking on relevant industry roles and often perform in schools around the area to help teach subjects through dance.”
The next DUSC performance will be tomorrow at Southwick School.
