Broomsticks at the ready! Harry Potter fans can enjoy broomstick lessons as Alnwick Castle once again as the attraction reopens following lockdown.

Alnwick Castle officially reopened to the public on Saturday, August 15, offering visitors tours of its State Rooms, along with popular activities such as archery and broomstick training.

Under Covid-19 safety measures, all tours and activities will now be held in small groups and visitors must book a ticket for entry into the castle in advance via the Alnwick Castle website.

But once on site, visitors can stay as long as they wish, leaving plenty of time to enjoy the grounds and all the various activities.

Here’s everything you need to know as broomstick training resumes:

When do lessons take place and who can take part?

Lessons will start at 10.30am each day with the last lesson of the day at 4pm.

Broomstick lessons have resumed at Alnwick Castle.

In order to maintain social distancing, classes are limited to a maximum of 20 pupils.

Lessons are open to all visitors aged six and up.

What safety measures are in place?

Participants will be asked to sanitise their hands, before being guided to their broomstick for the lesson.
