Sunderland are working on a deal to sign Northampton Town youngster Tom Scott after he impressed on trial at the Academy of Light recently.
That’s according to Football Insider who states that the attacking midfielder is only on a scholarship deal at Northampton and that the Black Cats are ready to offer him a professional contract on Wearside.
The Black Cats are said to view Scott as a potential ‘first-team star of the future.’
The 18-year-old would likely link up with Sunderland’s Under-23s side next season.

Birmingham City are interested in signing Gillingham winger Jordan Graham on a free transfer this summer.
That’s according to Football League World who states Blues manager Lee Bowyer is a big fan of the attacker.
Indeed, the former Charlton Athletic manager tried to sign the winger during his time in charge at The Valley and is said to still be interested.
Graham’s current deal at Gillingham is set to expire in the summer.
