Sunderland AFC transfer news: Cats' promotion rivals interested in TWO of Lee Johnson's squad plus recently released Max Power

According to local reports in Suffolk, potential promotion rivals Ipswich Town are interested in two of Sunderland’s players.
Manager Paul Cook and incoming chief executive Mark Ashton are understood to be keen to strengthen during the summer.

Hide AdIndeed, the Town are looking to rebuild their squad as they bid to win promotion from League One at the third attempt.
The Blues are understood to have shown interest in two Sunderland players.
Most notably the Wearside club’s leading scorer from 2020/21 Charlie Wyke and young attacker Josh Hawkes
That’s according to the East Anglian Daily Times who also state that the Tractor Boys also have an interest in former Sunderland captain Max Power.

Hide AdWyke is out of contract in the summer but has been offered fresh terms at the Stadium of Light as confirmed in the club’s recent retained list.
Hawkes has enjoyed a breakthrough season for the Black Cats U23s and helped his side reach a play-off final following his move from Hartlepool United.
The club confirmed on Tuesday that club captain Max Power would be released this summer at the end of his contract.
The 27-year-old has been a regular in the XI since joining from Wigan Athletic in the summer of 2018 and has made 53 appearances last season and 138 in total.
