Wolves chairman, Jeff Shi, said: “We are very happy to welcome Matija, who is a promising young goalkeeper with lots of potential. We hope that he will be a success at Wolves and with his loan club next season.”
The Black Cats are looking to bring in another senior goalkeeper following the departure of Jon McLaughlin to Rangers, Sunderland currently have Lee Burge and promising youngster Anthony Patterson – who is expected to go out on loan.
Burge looks to be in pole position to be the club’s number one next season, ahead of the return to training on Wednesday.
