Daniel Campos, Almiron’s representative, claimed this week in an interview on a Paraguayan radio station that Almiron would have left Newcastle United by now had it not been for the coronavirus pandemic. Campos added that he expected Almiron to leave the club next year.
Asked about Campos’ comments, head coach Bruce said: “I couldn’t miss them because they were that outrageous. It was bordering on ridiculous. A two-bob agent who’s so amateurish. Why would you put your client in that situation?

"An agent, who two years in is probably trying to profit again is hugely disrespectful to all of us – and the club in particular. He’s a great pro, a great kid, but his obviously agent leaves a lot to be desired.
"He hasn’t arrived back (at the training ground) yet, I haven’t seen him yet, but I will have a conversation with him. Yes, of course.
"But, as I've said, Miguel’s an unbelievable pro, a great lad and a great attitude to everything, and appreciates what the club has given him and what his team-mates have given him.

Almiron, signed from Atlanta United last year, will train today after returning from international duty yesterday.
