Teams of rescuers helped a teenager back onto solid ground after they became stuck on a cliff face while out on Sunderland’s coast.
Sunderland and Seaham’s Coastguard Rescue Teams were joined by Tyne and Wear Fire and Rescue when they were called out to a spot close to Hendon Grange shortly before 3pm today, Monday, March 29.
Firefighters used a line rescue team to reach the youngster, who had become stranded around 6 metres from the bottom of the cliff, and then helped them to safety.
