Sunderland booze thief jailed after targeting B & M four times in less than a month

Claire Marie Jarvis has admitted targeting B & M, in Sunderland, to pilfer hundreds of pounds of booze between February 17 and March 12.
South Tyneside Magistrates’ Court has now imprisoned her after learning the thefts were in breach of suspended sentences imposed earlier this year for similar offences.

Hide AdJarvis, 46, of South Terrace, Southwick, Sunderland, was jailed for two weeks for each of the four thefts and received an additional fortnight after admitting failing to surrender to custody on September 9.
She was locked up for 38 weeks in total after the court decided to trigger suspended sentences imposed for earlier theft convictions.
These include jointly stealing £809 of items from B & M’s branch at Hylton Riverside Park.
Jarvis, who also admitted two breaches of earlier suspended sentences, must additionally pay £213 compensation.
