Arrest after two-vehicle collision in Sunderland city centre saw man 'make off' from scene
and live on Freeview channel 276
Emergency services attended Chester Road shortly before 9pm on Wednesday following a two-vehicle collision.
A Northumbria Police spokeswoman said: "Police and emergency services attended and found one of the vehicles, a Citroen, had come to rest on its side.

Hide Ad"The two occupants were treated at the scene for injuries believed to be minor.

"A male, believed to be the driver of the other vehicle, made off from the scene.
"He was arrested by officers a short time after and remains in police custody at this time."
Four patients were taken to Sunderland Royal Hospital .
